Julia Stanislawska is a Swedish documentary filmmaker whose works have screened at prestigious international festivals and broadcast on national television.
Her film “Rikard” (2018) follows the life of national icon Rikard Wolff for five years. It opened Tempo Documentary Festival in Stockholm where it was nominated with the Tempo Award for best feature-length documentary film.
“I Dreamed about Pol Pot” (2009) premiered at IDFA (International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam) and was nominated in the category Mid-length documentary.
Julia makes films on commission and has worked with clients such as Sony Music Sweden, Greenpeace and International programme for the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC/ILO).
Since 2020 Julia has collaborated with the production company Mindpool as Cinematographer, Director and Editor on films for Vasakronan, Atrium Ljungberg, JFokus and many more.
Julia holds a BA (Hons) degree in Directing Documentary from Stockholm University of the Arts and a BA in Fine Art from Byam Shaw School of Art/Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.
She has lived and worked in countries in Asia, Africa and Europe and is currently based between Stockholm and Gävleborg.
